Henry Patten is probably not that known as he has now finished uni in the states.
[...] well known to anyone who follows the British Tour as he's just been runner-up in the prestigious Bath Premier event.
I don't, which is why I asked the question.
And why I replied
The recent event has given a whole heap of wildcards, to the main draw and qualifiers, for the next three 25ks in the UK, so it is a very useful source of information.
Real Shame for Sacha Modica. He lost the first set but was 5-2 up in the second. Served for it twice. Then broke again at 5-5 and served for it again. Then led in the TB - but ended up losing in two sets.
Rarely see a men's match with so many breaks of serve......worth bearing in mind for whoever gets the Pole in the main draw
Great start by Dan Little (who's another one who's been doing well in other non-ITF events), taking the first set 6-1 against the top seed.
But now an instant break down in the second.
I assume Dan has finished Uni in the US now.
I remember watching him in a junior G5 final at Liverpool 5 or 6 years ago.
I'm not sure, you may well be right, that last year was his last, and he graduated in summer 2019?
I saw that in 2019:
"Dan Little became the first Ute to qualify for the NCAA Championships in singles play since 2007 and the first to advance to the second round since 1997."
and
"ITA Mountain Region Senior Player of the Year, two-time Pac-12 All-Conference, over 95 career wins, Pac-12 All-Academic, ITA Scholar-Athlete, a degree in management. What a career for this senior"
And Dan was chosen as one of your three for the World Uni tennis championships in November 2019 (but I guess that's based on having been a student that year? Not on still being a student?)
He' certainly been a bit more visible over here recently....
The main draw is out - and we have THREE british lucky losers (as well as all the GB qualifiers and wildcards and direct entrants)
The wildcards went as predicted from the wildcard qualifying events, namely to Felix Gill, Arthur Fery, Josh Paris, but seemingly no fourth one? There's a junior exempt for the French lad, Royer

And he has drawn Evan Hoyt in the opening round of the main draw.
18 Brits in main draw, 8 top half, 10 bottom, with the bottom 4 all Brits so one guaranteed QF place
