L16: (8) Kyle Edmund WR 62 vs Dominik Köpfer (GER) WR 94 (CH = 83 last November)
Koepfer (sorry cant do the .. above the O!) [...]
You mean the Umlaut, Jon ("ö")? Easy peasy: make sure your Num Lock is turned on, then hold down the Alt key, type 148 on the numeric keypad et voilà... For the record, an "e" is used to modify (technical grammatical term!) the three so-called "strong" vowels in German (& certain other languages), the others being "ä" & "ü", where the relevant character is, for whatever reason, not available. The effect is the same for a native German-speaker.
Thanks SC! Is there a way of doing the umlaut on a phone out of interest?

On an iPhone (other brands are available, but I don't use them) hold a letter key and a list of available alternates will pop up.

Sadly luke and ben lost their opener against jack sock and monroe. The other brits all play today in doubles
For the record:
L16: (PR) Nicholas Monroe & Jack Sock (USA/USA) CR 245 (104+141) defeated (4) Luke Bambridge & Ben McLachlan (JPN) CR 96 (50+46) by 7-6(4) 7-5
That always looked like a potential banana skin. Just noticed that Monroe is 37!
It was and it mustnt be forgotten that Sock is of course a slam winner (3 times I think, twice with Mike Bryan and once with Vasek Pospisil) so is top drawer on the doubles court and should be also in singles.
I noticed a few folks on twitter complaining about his WC into singles in NYC and, of course, he lost in the first round. I do hope , though, that he gets back to playing decent singles, the other year at the O2 he was box office and really brings something to the Tour, maybe a bit like a Kyrgios et al but I think the game is poorer without him playing at the top of his ability
