It was very likely she'd get in either way, unless there were 2 SE's, but Katy is now in the main Sunderland draw. I cant see the withdrawal date on the new ITF site (when I'm on my phone) but I'm pretty sure it is Lesley Kerkhove who made way for her. A double boost because it definitely saves a WC and Kerkhove is 156, and has done very well in these GB W25s recently, so that's a title contender gone as well as a tough potential R1 match for some of our players.

Emma is now alt #2, and would also get in directly if there were no SEs.

Yes it is Lesley Kerkhove Ace.

Tanysha is now also in qualifying. Kasia Pitak is now 4th Alt, and then there is a run of Brit players from 8th Alt onwards

Thanks Michael. Annoying how you can't see it on your phone now (unless you can and I'm just not looking hard enough).

I see Cepelova withdrew very late from Glasgow, but is currently still on this list, and she's not played since retiring at AO quals, so she might be in doubt here, or perhaps not firing on all cylinders if she does play, and she should be the 2nd seed (I think she was actually part of the Slovak FC team, but then the person who was selected to play Hev was lower ranked, so she might have just been there to be part of the team, like Andreescu was for Canada).

I'm going one day through the week, and maybe to the SF or F (depending on who makes it), but while in one sense you do want to see some better players, because our W25s are usually strong, and it hasn't been the best start to the year generally, I wouldn't mind this becoming even weaker to allow more chance for some of our players to get something going, and to build on.

Ace, it was Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove - listed way down amongst the P's, which is probably why you couldn't see her. She is listed as LWM 18/02

Thanks TA. I knew she had withdrawn, but just couldn't tell when as I can only see Pos, Player, WTA Rank, National Rank, and Priority when on my phone, yet on the laptop, it always says Withdrawal Date, so wasn't fully she if it was today/yesterday, or if it was a few days ago, and someone else had since withdrawn, but thanks both for confirming.

Just re-emphasising TAs post on the entries section about another withdrawal in Sunderland, moving Emma up to first alt (and fingers crossed she can play). It was the aforementioned Cepelova who withdrew, so that's another top 200 high seed gone.

Eikeri may be in the same situation as Emma, as she retired in Glasgow yesterday (in a leading position) in the doubles, and subsequently withdrew from the singles. Not sure if PaulM saw what happened with her?

Glasgow W25 entry list (w/c 17th Feb) + SUNDERLAND (w/c 24th)

Qual draw for Sunderland is out, and there looks to have been loads of withdrawals judging by the top Q seeds. I'll post more when the main thread has been created, but it does look like it's going to be weak with 565 the Q1.

Yes, just been going through the draw. Missing from qualies are Emma, Eden, Freya and Alicia and presumably they all have wildcards as there are no other candidates from the Brits on the entry list. Looks like three no-shows from the main draw.

All those from the alt list that were likely to turn up are in. Just the one QWC - Chloe Compson - there were seven Brits ahead of her that aren't in the draw.

I have fears for Emma.

I was having a bit of a look on Instagram earlier and doing a bit of detector work, and Victoria Muntean posted a pic of Sunderland pier, so she is here, and she was 6th on the Q list, but not in the Q draw, so I assume she is in the main draw.

Vismane retired at 1-6 1-5 in her Tunisian semi final today, so I assume she doesn't have an SE, and thus won't be playing. Therefore, if there are no SEs, I think there are FOUR withdrawals from Moratelli upwards. Parrizas-Diaz and Emma retired against Benoit in Glasgow, so they will likely be high up the list, and Eikeri retired in her doubles and subsequently pulled out of the singles, so she's another quite likely. Hopefully it won't be Fran or Jodie following their (reasonably) long stints in India.

Emma won't need a MDWC if she plays, and I also think Eden will be in automatically (assuming she's not one of the withdrawals), therefore Freya and Lissey, and 2 others. Grace Piper isn't in the quals field, and had a MDWC at Roehampton last year and won a R1 match, so she's could be in contention, and Alicia Dudeney won that Corby BT event today, and she is not in the qual draw, but is on the alt list, so she may have got in. No Kimberly M is quals either, but surely she won't have a MDWC.

One guaranteed qualifier in the Beth, Esther, Ali and Emily M section, and Ola P is the top seed in another section, and Marni will likely have a decent chance against the Q12, and will probably then be the fave from that scetion, so it would be a bit disappointing if the French Q12 came through that section of 3 Brits. Tanysha might have a chance of qualifying, and the Spanish top Q seed lost to Amelia Rajecki in Roehampton quals, and Danielle D last week in Glasgow quals, so someone like Holly might have an outside chance of going through, but still probably unlikely. There were 2 LLs in Glasgow, so that could be another backdoor route for someone else.

P.S I do have added interest in this event, so have tried to take my usual up a notch smile

Victoria Muntean would be in the draw due to withdrawals, as would be Eden.

You are probably right (as usual) about the other two, I hadn't thought about the BT events. Annoushka Wooler and Arabella Moen are the other two missing from the qualifying draw.

My predicted British qualifiers are Beth and Danielle.

Some FQR matches at Sunderland were streamed last year, so if Marni and Danielle can beat their seeded opponents, then that should be a good one to watch, if the same happens here.
