Q1: DARLEY, Cheri (GBR) UNR/UNR v SKACHKOVA, Katsiaryna (BLR) WC 8 1193/731 CH=965/311 7/10/19 

 

There is no information about Cheri on the ITF website except that she is 16 years old and has a junior ranking of 582.

The only reason she's on the ITF site is that she's played juniors (they don't show anything at all untill they've played one match).

Appears to hail from Middlesbrough. Seems to be at Academia Tenis Ferrer as is her "presumed by me" sister Libby).

Don't understand why she's going for W15 confuse but who knows?

 That would explain why she played a lot in Spain last year. She also played in Tunisia a few times, so why not give it a go.

Well done to Cheri for a great result, and who picks up an ITF point for FQR which will give her an ITF ranking - so definitely worth a go biggrin

Cheri is in the main draw as a qualifier, not sure of the score but her opponent also made the main draw as a lucky loser. Cheri has a fellow Qualifier in the 1st round.

Two good results for Cheri now, meaning 2 ITF points too. Her first round draw gives her a good opportunity for picking up her first WTA point as well, though of course this will not give her a ranking. But the ITF points will certainly help her gain entry to future W15 tournaments if she so wishes.

R1: DARLEY, Cheri (GBR) Q UNR/UNR LOST TO RUPPERT, Lena (GER) Q UNR/1698 CH=874/1658 1-6 1-6

Couldn't take her break points, and couldn't save those against her - so not as bad as the score might suggest. A good tournament for young Cheri just the same.
