Does this also mean that Joe will automatically qualify for the ATP finals at the end of the year ?

Yes, might give Joe a ( not the ) Davis Cup now  - well if it was coming up soon, having been previously happy with the Jamie & Neal partnership. Joe & Jamie seemed to be gelling better as the ATP Cup proceeded. I am not aware of say Joe & Neal having partnered each other.

Other than winning atp 500 Vienna in October 2018 you mean?

A report from the Melbourne paper, The Age, which includes a three-minute highlights clip.  There was a bizarre incident in the second set where the dampener dropped out of Luke Saville's racket & the players were ordered by the umpire to replay the point!

Pretty sure I have heard before of a plsyer losing a point because of their dampener dropping out.

You're really having problems with your "a"s & your "s"s, Indy!  wink

Whoever was commentating on the match for Australia's Channel 9 said that the first time something like that happened, the point would be replayed, but if it happened again or, say, his cap blew off, he/the team would be docked a point.

Only one Slam winner that finishes outside the top 8 gets a spot.

But does put them in a very strong place . I think theyve also got to remain in top 20 pairs to get the grand slam slot, but that should be easy.

Jamie's column for the Beeb in which he discusses his disappointment after losing the final of the mixed (& confirms that he & Beth will play together at R-G), his & Neal's early exit from the men's competition (he comments on the match against Johnson & Querrey), playing until he's 40 & his concerns about Colombian meat!
