He's only been & gone & done it:

SF:  James Ward WR 313 defeated (3) Danilo Petrovic (SRB) WR 166 by 7-6(7) 7-6(4)  biggrin  jump.gif

Kamke (13/WR 248) or the unseeded Frenchman, Arther Rinderknech (WR 329), in the final.

That's going to be a huge jump in the rankings - around 50 places to WR264 according to OER

Great win. I assume he will withdraw from Newport next week

A final win would put him top 240. A lot to play for

Don't know much about Arthur Rinderknech - pretty sure he's been over in the States at college, Texas somewhere, and did a Masters/MBA or something there too.

He's quite tall and plays a rather stilted game, decent serve but a bit leggy and gangly, rather like James, in fact.

Dino's got a good chance.....

Really, all I did was leave James out of my GB top 10. I thought that would get to James and really spur him on. So a little credit to James himself too

Deano lost the first set 7-5 and a break 1-0 down in 2nd set.

I had a sneaking suspicion it would end in tears:

Final:  Arthur Rinderknech (FRA) WR 329 defeated James Ward WR 313 by 5 & 4  cry

Still a good week for Dino, but an even better one for the Frenchman!  hmm

Only saw two balls of that match. Shame for James, but a great week, and pretty close score in the final, even though he lost 5-7 4-6
