Not sure how Dino got out of that:  Bonzi served for the match at 6-5 in the second set!

******

L32:  (14) Pavel Kotov (RUS) WR 250 (CH = 234 two weeks ago) vs James Ward WR 313

Jerzy Janowicz is playing after surgery (plural, I think) and a long injury layoff - hasn't played on tour since Nov 2017. Into the second round.

Really pleased for James. The 15pts won here are his 2nd highest return in the last 12 months.  They cover his January 2019 points due to fall off, and he's nothing more to defend until April so maybe a chance to push up the rankings a little.

Do we know much about his next WC opponent (Coup Droit?)

That looks a pretty straightforward win for Dino.

*****

QF:  (WC) Kyrian Jacquet (FRA) WR 625 (CH = 615 last November) vs James Ward WR 313

The Frenchman is 18 & put out the eleventh seed, Muller, in his first round match, albeit benefitting from a retirement in the second set, & Lamasine, the eighth seed, in the second, so is not to be underestimated.

James Ward. Maturing like a fine wine.

Great win today.
