In terms of the earlier discussion, with Mandy and Fran both winning their first round matches against lower ranked opposition, both are now provisionally in the GB top 10 post the AO. Major reason is that Katie B loses 70 pts since she reached the R64 last year... so winning just one match for Katie this year is going to be very significant for her ranking, her earnings, her confidence... most things going in fact.

I know Mandy is a fair bit older but I don't personally see her as having much less potential than Katy D, indeed not any less potential.
Katy's CH 212 from May 2018 is a bit better than Mandy's CH 236 from April 2017 but Katy has really spent quite a few years now generally between 250 and 350 without looking like majorly pushing on, much as I have often liked watching her give her all. And she will be 25 next month.
But when Mandy got injured around her CH she seemed to me to have more top 200 potential, clearly particularly on clay, than Katy has seemed to have for a while now, and I see Mandy as still the more likely to push on.
Fran yes still has much upwards potential, time will tell but certainly potentially more than both Mandy and Katy. May she stay fit and well.

Yes a good win for Mandy against a higher ranked player, with a good CH too. A lot of breaks each, but steady serve as she has, Mandy had a higher win percentage on her 2nd serve than first.
Talaba who she plays next took our the 2nd seed today.

Mandy in a real battle here. Lost the first set 6-3, and is currently 3-3 in the second set. The second set has already lasted 54 minutes and 71 points.
