Didn't realise De Schepper's ranking had taken such a tumble- I remember him best for being Kyle's first ever tour main draw victim at Eastbourne. What's the story? Can you assist us again there CD?
I hadn't been following him but, according to a couple of French sites, he had two separate injuries last year which caused the fall. But he's been playing since November (in the elite interclubs league matches) and is now fine.
I agree he's only really a huge serve, hate watching him play, but (a) he does it pretty well, and (b) I thought Anton would have difficulty because hardly any juniors play that style of game and so youngsters new to the adult circuit often have more difficulty with it than they should (i.e. they'll have more difficulty for the first two years, say, playing a serve and volleyer who's ATP 500 than a baseliner who's ATP 500)
I thought we were talking about Anton, I was confused as I didn't really think he was that tall just now clocked that the comment about height and a big serve was about De Scheppers who is very tall even by my standards (apparently I have a warped view of mens average height!)
To try the same effect, (my lose-10p-and-jinx-the-Frenchman-tactic, as Bob pointed out) I think that Jules Marie (Anton's next opponent) will beat Anton too.
Jules is well ranked, and very solid, with lots of experience, a lot of team tennis...
(This is nothing against Anton - he did nothing but impress last year and, being so young, and such a good physique for adult tennis, has proved my initial doubts from a couple of year ago about him wrong, and brilliant for him).
