Busy night for tennis followers as Dan, Joe and Jamie/Neal all in action here, which makes 7 Brits playing overnight in the Antipodean part of the world - and that is just the guys.

3 women - Heather in Hobart, Harriet and Sam in AO qualifying.
fyi, there are a few posts on this separately in the Doping Again thread on the general discussion forum of this site.
The tainted multi vitamins argument sounds like Greg Rusedski all over again. I never believed Greg and I dont believe Jarry
In defence of Rusedski, WADA rules no longer consider his nandrolone result a positive test. The amount he tested for was miniscule (in comparison to other athletes who were caught using nandrolone to dope) and upon later investigation it was eventually found that the elevated level he and many other ATP players tested for, could be produced by entirely natural processes. The nandrolone doping test has since been modified accordingly.
I learned this from a blog post of Richard Ings who was ATP head of anti-doping at the time.

Kyle, Dom and Luke in Auckland plus Jonny in the Bendigo 2 Challenger so 8 men in 7 matches. Plus 3 women ( Heather singles and doubles ) so 3 women in 4 matches.

So 11 players in 11 matches. If we get 5 or 6 of those coming home I'll take that !
(*) & a combined age of 74 (38+36)! That said, they comfortably (3 & 3) beat Lloyd Harris & JPS, who had replaced the top seeds, Cabal & Farah, who withdrew because the latter fell ill...
Not illness at all, it seems. According to this morning's Metro, they won't be playing in the Oz Open, as Farah has tested positive for an anabolic steroid, a result he blames on a substance found in Colombian meat which he said "can distort doping tests". In addition, Nicolás Jarry of Chile has been provisionally suspended for failing a drug test during the DC. He puts it down to "tainted multivitamins"!

I had no idea & didn't go looking (rarely have that much time). It was never my intention to trigger a debate on the issue of drug-taking, merely to set the record straght, as the PDF version of the draw sheet had attributed the pair's withdrawal to Cabal's illness! Maybe I was putting 2 & 2 together & getting 5...

Definitely. GB have the better ranking in just 2 out of the 11 matches.
Jonny+ as 2nd seeds vs WCs and Sam WR 217 vs WR 221.

Dan lost in 3 but put up a decent showing and has had 7 matches in oz since season started, so maybe not a bad thing with the AO in a few days. Should be well honed now.
Must admit I was ambivalent about thiis match, Dan has had an excellent pre AO preperation and a few days off before the start is not going to do him much harm.
