I see Heather has been broken though immediately at the start of the second set - and she is 0/4 on saving BPs so far in the match, whilst Ferro is 5/8 saved.
Ferro wanted the suspension and after a lengthy discussion with the referee Heather agreed. Probably thinking that Ferro has the risk of starting slowly and getting broken when they resume.

Yes I agree, if anyone has the upper hand now its Heather. She is a set up and a game up, and even if they are back on serve 2nd set, there have been plenty of breaks so to have the extra game in the bank and for Ferro to have to defend her serve first up is an ok position for Heather to be in. It's been a very tight match so far - Heather is up on points just 64/61 and they are 4/4 on BPs, so those advantages are significant ones.
Top seed Mertens has just beaten Kuzmova easily on centre court, so that's who the winner will play in the QF.
It'll not happen now, but it's a shame they couldn't just play out the rest of the match on that court under the lights, and just treat the interruption like a rain delay. It's 10.30pm in Hobart and Adeleide, and Bencic-Georges are still on going in the latter location, so it's not too late. As the final is Saturday, one of Watson/Ferro will have to come back to play Mertens the same day, so wrapping it up tonight would have avoided that, and they could have had the Mertens match as the final QF, to given them as much rest as possible.
Much better finishing the match on Centre Court - the lights on the West Court were pretty poor.
Good form from Hev, sets her up nicely for the AO, regardless of the outcome against Mertens tomorrow.
