Shame but 2 out of 3 is better than I thought, those draws were pretty tough and I wouldn't have been suprised to see all of them go out in QR3.

Well first round draw is complete now - and Sam will get to take on Bondar, Katie S's conqueror. It should be an interesting match.
Katie B also gets another qualifier, so in that sense good draws from them both, in this very strong field. Tig, the top seed, is WR 113 - and this is just a W25, which shows the shortage of warm up events especially for Aus Open qualifying.

Sam also won her doubles in three sets.She is playing with the Serbian Natalija Kostik.

They beat the no 3 seeds 6-4 6-7(4) 11-9

Just duplicated this doubles note, but to say also in the QF she will meet Bondar again, playing with Pemra Ozgen.

 Anna Bondar is the player who gave Jo such a tough match at last years Fed Cup match against Hungary.
