If Madrid belonged to Nadal and Spain, Sydney was very clearly Djokovic's.  Impressive weak and AO nicely teed up.

Djoko not weak at all, I'd've thought, Jon.  wink

I really enjoyed watching the ATP cup. The late nights worked quite well for watching in the morning. Don't think Rafa can have much to complain about, they had home advantage in the Davis Cup. I quite like the format of both competitions. Team tennis also stirs up the passions far more than normal tournaments. I don't think I would be adverse to having both of the events remain on the calendar.

Me also but if both are to remain then there should be clear distinction and I think the ATP Cup should have a 3x singles format, which would determine the best nation in the world rather than the current format, where the best singles player who can also dominate doubles in a 3 set and 2 set dubs wins out.

I wasn't complaining when Andy won it for us but at least it was mentally and physically exhausting for a single world class player to achieve this in the old DC, hence normally a big team effort.
