British Tour - 2020

Final result from Edgbaston

Valeria Bhunu [5] def Charlotte Russell 6-1 6-1

Might not have a ranking at the moment, but still showing signs of that CH497 from November 2016.

Out of interest, is the tier 1 event at bolton still being played next week?

Still showing on the LTA website. Naomi has withdrawn, but the other ranked GB players are still on the entry list.

Yeah, saw that. Made me wonder if it could still be going on though - Bolton Arena website seems to suggest their normal operations are carrying on, and I dont suppose they have much in the way of crowds for this type of event, although all the players in close proximity will be hard to manage.

Without anything much in the way of crowds they are effectively just like pretty much any sports centre. And rightly or wrongly these generally remain open.

True, will they remain so after the announcement just now?

I can't see how any lta tournaments maybe with exception of very local low grade ones can carry on now. The Bolton Brit tour is a non essential gathering involving trains, hotel stays, eating out in pubs or restaurants for players, coaches, parents. After today's PM update I think it is irresponsible to carry on. LTA also still hasn't done acceptances for their junior nationals at roehampton first weekend of April. Surely tomorrow they must cancel both Bolton and the other lta tournaments, at least all the higher level ones?

23rd March ? That is ludicrous, only one week. I bet they extend that very quickly.
(I just read the post on their website)

The venue at bolton, if I am correct is at the Bolton Arena, seems to be ploughing on regardless. So currently, this event seems on, however daft that sounds .

Does that include british tour, bolton. I've no idea what grade 1 to 6 means!

Reading the release, I'm assuming it is cancelled, which is the right move.

I'm sure it is included, although the British Tour and actual tournament webpages haven't been updated yet.

The next scheduled competition is Bournmouth, starting on 27th April. Very unlikely that that will last much longer.

(And yes, Bolton was to be held at the Bolton Arena)
