Millie Bissett won the u18 tournament in nottm yesterday, 6-2 2-6 10-5 against Eva Shaw in final so won wc into next weeks brit tour but I see she has withdrawn from list, also she would have got in anyway I think with the other withdrawals.
Thanks Spireman, do you know who else was in the field?
If Millie isn't playing then hopefully they give it to Eva instead, or just give her one of the 2 WCs anyway, regardless of coming via an official channel. I think she's probably the most interesting GB player, who has played an ITF event, that hasn't featured in any of the streamed Summer domestic events thus far, and good to see she had a good showing here.
That's assuming she is eligible to play of course.

Katie B must feel in need of match practice, but to me this event isn't the right one for her. She'll probably only get one or two really competitive matches, although she'll probably have to play one or two of the unranked players in the first couple of rounds - and some of them have shown really good form recently.
The list is still fine, but its at the stage now where any more withdrawals will badly affect it, and there's obviously still plenty of time.
Most of the players who have come in will be a fine addition, but potentially replacing Fran or Katie with some of the current high alts will seem huge. If it stays as it is and there are 4 seeds, the likes of Emily Ap and Marni should at least make Katie work in the early rounds, and one or two more could maybe extend her a little, but it would be a bit pointless for her if a typical 0/1-6 0/1-6 replacement comes in and draws Katie early.

Ouch, that's what I was meaning, you lose 2 interesting players like Fran and Marni and replace them with someone like Annali and it's pretty noticeable. I saw Emily Ap withdraw a day or two ago, replaced by Sally, and it's getting to the stage now where Katie won't be tested at all for the opening 2 rounds, and it'll probably look different still in a few days.
Hopefully Fran is OK, she's not played all summer as far as I'm aware, and withdrew from the Progress Tour, and Marni too, after withdrawing from one of the early BT events with her on-going injury.
Typically, the official British Tour webpage hasn't been updated with the entry list - Fran still showing.
It is as latest list above with last three now sofia johnson, Lillian mould and millie bissett (with her wc from the u18 at notts last week). The link from page 28 of this thread will work, or search lta return to elite competition and scroll down to find acceptances.

Yep, Katie B and Erin today. The initial line up was never going to last, but that's some contrast 10 or so days later. Still (just about) 3 or 4 that I'm interested, so I will still keep an eye on it, although another 3 days for further withdrawals.
Hopefully more will be playing intl ITF events in the coming weeks, but if not, hopefully the 2nd and 3rd weeks will be a bit stronger after some have had a bit of well earned rest.

Just goes to prove that the left hand of the LTA doesn't know what it's right hand is doing. This list hasn't been updated for a few days.
When does this tournament start :), I thought it was like normal, one tournament finishes the Sunday and then on the Monday the next series starts.
Not that I'm complaining lol because some of these girls and boys deserve some sort of rest, Billy Harris comes to mind.
It's a seperate event to the those indoor SGH events that have ran for 6 weeks straight, those are finished now. These BT events usually start on either Thursday or Friday, depending on their status, this one starts on Friday, where they'll play R1, and then they'll have the QF and SFs on Satruday, and the F on Sunday, so pretty congested.

and sadly a lot less money!!
Yeah, it's not great. I still don't know why they can't start on Thursday like they do for the Premiers, probably costs related, but that would be so much better than everyone playing twice in one day.
