For weeks 2, 3 and 4 one of the wc is awarded to the winner of the u18 'national' tournaments which are starting in nottm on monday, but there are only 3 weeks of those tournaments so no feed up wc for this first week of brit tour tier 1. (wc has to meet requirements for brit tour which means must be 16 and have ipin itf registration).
Should add the nottm tournaments not strictly nationals, but grade 6 matchplay tournaments (hence inverted commas above) so no points awarded, but aimed at national level u18, there are also u16 versions at nottm, lower age groups elsewhere.

I think this Brit Tour run only has 3 events as well , doesn't it?

Yes, my mistake. So one wc for this first one comes from the upcoming u18 event.
Presumably injured after pulling out of SGH week 5, and could also tie in with cya's Classic WC hunch.
If that is the case, hope it's nothing too serious and it's just a niggle that a few weeks of R&R would sort out. There has been a lot of tennis played since early July so probably all catching up

Freya Christie and Eliz Maloney dropped out of next weeks British Tour event now. w.c 17th
Hmm, still strong as it stands, but still plenty of time for additional withdrawals, and it'll probably end up being a much more realistic list for the prize money on offer.
I wonder if the likes of Freya and Eliz's WD is just down to resting up after a busy schedule, the latter in particular, or if it's possibly due to ITF event reasons.
Millie Bissett won the u18 tournament in nottm yesterday, 6-2 2-6 10-5 against Eva Shaw in final so won wc into next weeks brit tour but I see she has withdrawn from list, also she would have got in anyway I think with the other withdrawals.

Thanks Spireman, do you know who else was in the field?
If Millie isn't playing then hopefully they give it to Eva instead, or just give her one of the 2 WCs anyway, regardless of coming via an official channel. I think she's probably the most interesting GB player, who has played an ITF event, that hasn't featured in any of the streamed Summer domestic events thus far, and good to see she had a good showing here.
That's assuming she is eligible to play of course.

Millie would have got in anyway on ranking after the recent withdrawals. But it is possible she has got the wild card, and has just withdrawn ftom the acceptance list. Never easy trying to guess the LTA's intentions either.
