She won a W25 event just before lockdown (which will have massively helped her ranking) and has featured in a lot of matches against Brits over the past year or do, as she often plays the GB W25s. She's based in the UK but someone on here said she went to college in the States.

Emma serving to stay in the match here, 1-5 2-5, Lissy has had a fair few lucky net cords, but has definitely been the better player. Emma just doesn't look like stringing a few games together.

Marni safely through (6-2 6-1), and the scoreboard went off in the end of the Lily match, but they are no longer on court, so assume she won comfortable as well.

Hardly any of the 11 women's matches this far have gone into a MTB, and there have been a fair few upsets (or at least lower ranked wins anyway), so it's not just a case of higher ranked easing their way through.

Well that's 2 games back for Emma, and now back on serve, *4-5. I hope she at least takes it to a MTB.

Awful miss at the net in the regular TB by Lissy, could be costly.

I've watched Lissey live, several times, and she does get really tight, but I guess you've got to give it to Emma - she's very feisty, she likes the fight, it's a good quality

When I started watching Emma was 6-1, 4-1 down. What a great fight back. Don't suppose I can really take credit for her change of fortune!!!

I really didn't see that comeback CD at 2-5, but she did battle well. 1-6 7-6(4) 1-0 (10-6).

It sets up a really interesting match tomorrow (I assume) against Marni. 2 17 year olds, Emma won in 2 tightish sets at Sunderland, but the way they have been playing, Emma needing 2 MTBs to turn both matches around, and Marni dropping no more than 3 games in any of her sets, it could be pretty hard to call, looking forward to it.

If Jodie can beat Naomi later, then she'll also set up a fairly recent rematch against Lily in the other semi final, but Naomi could be a thorn in that.

Edit - it doesn't really mean much, especially in this environment, but I see the bookies actually have Naomi as a very slight favourite to beat Jodie later. Hopefully Glasspool-Parris will go as long as Emma-Lissy did, and I'll watch after coming back from a walk.

Yes, Ace, I saw those odds too - I've got my couple of 10ps on Jodie.....

What will be will be.....smile

(I actually made - for me - a bucketload last week on the men, and then promptly blew a chunk of that of my French player, Fiona Condino, who most annoyingly took it into her head to actually win a match for once cry)

However, Mark W cam through today, and I had 10p on Jonnie Gray too which I've now taken off, so that's all good.

More seriously, I think Naomi can have problems when it's very windy - she needs a good ball toss, for her serve to be working, and isn't great at adjusting to ground  shot balls either.

Mind you, Jodie can go AWOL, wind or no wind....
