British Tour 2020

Friday sees the start of the 2020 BT at Loughborough University.  Unusually this year there are two tournaments before the end of the year as opposed to the usual one, giving someone the chance to be top of the leaderboard before the year has even started!

It's a Tier 2 event with Marcus Walters as top seed.

Prize money for the winner is a whopping £300 which if memory serves me correct is up from last year's £250?

And running against the Tour Masters event that you posted about on the 2019 thread!

Two seasons in one day, as a famous Antipodean rock band might have sung

Johannus Monday is now an official time traveller having won the first event of 2020, appropriately on a Monday! I guess it was in the stars.
He beat George Davies in the final 6-3, 5-2 retired.

Several of our top players are playing the British Tour event at Loughborough, which starts today.

The men's draw is particularly strong, with three top-1000 ATP ranked players.

The top two seeds are Aidan McHugh and Luke Johnson.

Alexis Canter, Sean Hodkin and Dan Little are all ATP ranked too

And there's some very interesting youngsters, such as Toby Samuel, Billy Blaydes, Yujiro Onuma ....

No upsets in R1.

Pleased to see that young Onuma (age 15), who I rather rate, got a decent win.

Sean Hodkin was seeded 4, but didn't appear - David Quayle took his place (seeded 9)

Hope this is a "tactical" withdrawal rather than an injury.
