Week 51 - WTA (125k), Limoges, France - Indoor Hard

Last outing of the season for Em and Sofia - but a tough one (8 team draw only)

QF:- A Blinkova (RUS) / M Nicolescu (ROM) CR105 (57+48) v Emily Webley-Smith (GBR)/ Sofia Shapatava (GEO) CR290 (144+146)

The title ( so 'just' 3 wins ) would see Em add 132 net points and end the year as GB doubles #1 ranked, just ahead of Heather ( 664 points to 659 ) and close to Em's CH 113 from 2015.

A very tough assignment though, starting agsinst the top seeds.

They only just made the tournament - the last direct acceptance was Minnen and Van Uytvanck at CR290
Not on todays order of play, so time to recover from their long and slow journey (French strikes).

It's been a long wait, but Em and Sofia are due on court now. Might be a stream on Bet365 (as the previous singles was streamed), but not showing at the moment.

Em broken twice, that time on the deuce point.

The combination of Blinkova power and Niculescu touch is quite fun to watch.

2-5*

Sofia holds from 40-0 down to get on the board, but Em is broken from 40-0 up to go out 6-2 6-1 in under 50mins.

Time for a break!
