and Eliz wins again 6-2 6-3 this time against the no 2 seed.
Well done on you, DF - can't see where you've got the results from .... so tx!
But Eliz beating Sara C (who's top 500) in two easy sets is a BIG result.
I don't know what Eliz is going to do this afternoon - I would have thought there was a strong argument for dropping out of the week 51 event - she's only in qualis - so she's got (in theory) a lot of matches to get through to get any points.
Better to concentrate on the week 50 event, if she's doing so well in that one, maybe???

On Live Scores CD. The QF to be played later as well as Qualies week 51. She and Destinee appear to be in the QF of the doubles after a walkover but that match is NOT destined for today. Hope someone knows what they are doing!!
Live scores also shows the Eliz won her Week 52 qualifying - but can she really be playing her third singles match of the morning already ? Waiting for the draw to be updated !
the main itf site says that the week 51 qualifying draw seems to have moved a lot of people directly into the main draw, so it looks as though eliz has an SE, in effect, along with several others.
The live score site appears to show she's played 3 matches this am, which I doubt, on the week 51 it doesn't show any other scores for the qualifying, I suspect Eliz's score on week 51 is a mistake and she can concentrate on week 50 till the week 51 MD begins. good for her to have won her 2 week 50 matches this am.

I've had a look at the ITF rules - they do allow for multiple SEs in cases like this, though I don't know where the presumably phantom week 51 qualifying results came from.
Also, although ITF World Tour women's rule X.A.3 states that under normal circumstances, a tournament can only be extended by one day, it implies that they can ask the ITF to allow a further extension in exceptional circumstances. This seems like a prime candidate for a further extension if ever there was one, given the near-endless rain last week, the much better forecast for this week, and the fact that the players are almost certainly all in favour of continuing, given that there are only three women's ITFs this week and most of those who played here in week 50 and are also down to play in week 51 were always going to be staying at the same venue anyway.
More importantly than all that, what a tournament for Eliz! First ITF World Tour R2 singles win with a career best ranking scalp, then another win against a player ranked hundreds of places higher than her on the same day - she still hasn't dropped more than 4 games in a set since the start of qualifying too!
