It's hard to see exactly where Emma will be work after next, since OER seem to be taking a break at the moment and so they've not added points for next week and the week after, but at the minimum Emma has already taken her CH 459 out, with her 30 points for reaching the final taking her up to 103 pts, which is level with Gabi Taylor, WR 424. Win the title Emma will be comfortably up around the 375 mark.
For Naiktha, she has also taken out her CH this week - so great end of year performances from both - and is on the cusp of the top 200 with her run to the final. If she wins the event she will rise to around WR 190.
So whatever happens in the final... it's a wonderful two weeks for both of them...
The final is even earlier tomorrow, 10am local, so 4.30am here. Emma a slight 4/6 favourite (she opened at 8/11).
Not sure who I'd like to win. I'd normally always like to see Emma win, and a W25 title just after her 17th birthday would be pretty cool, but at the same time, 17 and 1 month, ranking still isn't really the be all and end all, and we don't even know what her schedule / plans will be next year (A levels?), and Naiktha breaking into the top 200 for the first time, with a 2nd W25 title of the year, would be a bit of a milestone moment for her to end her season. Possibly leaning more towards Naiktha, but may the best player win.
I assume given her potential, and the fact Naiktha is still a reasonably new GB player, most on here would prefer an Emma win if they had to pick one?
Emma wins the final set decider. She broke early for 2-0 and again at 4-4 having been pulled back.
Heather was a month short of 18 when she won her first $25K, so Emma is probably our youngest winner at this level for a while?
Hev did also win a $50K a monyj after her $25K, so that's a useful next rung for Emma
