Week 50 - ITF (W25) - Pune, India - Hard

As DF has posted in entries, Emma is top seed in qualifying. Two rounds to be played.

Neither first round match should present a challenge, but Freya is seeded to meet Corinna Dentoni q5 seed in the FQR.

QR1: Emma RADUCANU [q1] 525 vs Akanksha Dileep NITTURE (IND) UNR/UNR 16yrs (no junior ranking)

QR1: Freya CHRISTIE [q10] 616 vs Abhilasha MEHRA (IND) UNR/UNR

Both tomorrow's matches will be considerably more challenging. Emma should be favourite to win hers but I can see her being pushed. And Freya will need a good performance to overturn the ranking table in hers.

Katie v Naiktha could be interesting. Katie performed better vs Raina last week than Naiktha ended up doing in the final.

Freya and partner although no 1 seeds are 0-6 down in 22 minutes

Her partner Valeria lost to Emma in the singles earlier without a game so not a good day for her.

That was a different Valeria S DF, or Valeriya in Emma's case.

Nice win for Emma, didn't think she'd do it so comfortably. Plays the seeded Eikeri next who Katie beat last week.
