Oh my.  I thought that name rang a bell.  I have seen Mr Rodriguez play.  Kyle beat him in the rain in Murcia back in 2013.

My match report on this page.

I see paul and jan could meet in the semis, hope that happens, be interesting to see if paul can improve on last week.

I see live rankings has paul at 517 which includes last weeks points. He needs a total of 5 points this week to enter the top 500. Would a qf , as he has reached, or semis achieve that for him. Presumably semifinal would do?

Not quite.

QF = 2 points, SF = 4, RU = 6, Title = 10

 Shame.  Although 4 points would take him equal with a whole bunch of players so be enough depending on count back and if others are losing points ...

Good wins. Would tie Paul at 497 with 6 players. 2 other players ahead of him are also still playing. Could be enough to make top 500, not sure how tiebreak countback would break the tie. A semi win would clinch top 500, but jan probably starts favourite

Ergo a repeat of last week's semi:

SF:   (1) Jan Choinski WR 275 vs (5) Paul Jubb WR 534

Same opponent, same stage of the competition, same result, but fewer games lost by Jan:

SF:   (1) Jan Choinski WR 275 defeated (5) Paul Jubb WR 534 by 2 & 1

(Last week, he won by 4 & 5)

*****

Final:  (1) Jan Choinski WR 275 vs (2) Camilo Ugo (ARG) WR 424 (CH = 349 in October last year)

Easy peasy for once, by the looks of it.
