Coric shows Emily at live ranking of 155 and 497 points - the extra 20 for winning the title would be worth around 5 places.

That live ranking and position is for this coming Monday, 25/11 - ie. before the 25K points from here get added.

Adding on net 12 points she is provisionally on 509 points for 02/12 and 529 points if they win the title.

I thought that Coric rankings were live and show points as they are added for each win. So EWS has 497 points including this week's wins and will move to 517 if she and Rutuja win the final-as per TA's post.

I must admit that I thought Coric was live for all lists, but I looked into the breakdown of the 497 points, and this week's points werent included.

But looking at the ATP sinles list on Coric, I see that this week's points ARE included (eg Joao Domingues WR294 has 29 points for SF at Maia)

So must be a doubles thing............

No, it is precisely as I said

Em is on 497 points in the existing 18/11 rankings. So nothing has been added in that Coric "497".

I don't follow Coric but assume their 'live' rankings must mean live to the next update, 25/11 ( that"s quite normal ). The net points from here ( so far 30 - 18 ) don"t add in until 02/12.

Ah, see your latest post TA. As I said I don't follow Coric.

PS : Though the Maia Challenger points will add on this coming Monday 25/11, so I would have expected them to be included in any live rankings - singles and doubles.

What doesn't add in to the very next rankings are men's and women's 25K and 15K points for both singles and doubles. There is a week's delay.

Brilliant from Emily. biggrin

Should take her to about 145 in the doubles rankings on 2/12, and put her 1 place ahead of a certain Sofia Shapatava!

No counters dropping off until April - so there is a chance of improvement still !

Emily's CH is 113, and that spot is currently occupied bu Bencic on 687 points, so still a fair way to go, and with a lowest counter of 25 it'll need more than W25 tournaments from now on.

Super for Emily  biggrin

Really hope she can continue to get big scores to keep adding net points, helped by getting into some bigger tournanents and snatching a few wins in these.

Just got 3 of her 11 counters below 50 now - a 25, 29 and 30.

Emily is down to play another 25K in India (Solapur) and is then down as an Alt for Pune (25K) or Dubai (100K) where Ms Shapatava! is also an Alt.

I think they might sneak in to Dubai in on their doubles rankings. Mind you, it is the last 25k+ event for the year so it's a bit of a coach trip.

It is very interesting Emily's situation now (and Sofia's for that matter). This means that she now has to win W25 events to be able to improve her ranking... which really means she has to focus on playing in larger events in the new year to progress further in doubles... but that is going to make it more difficult to play in singles as well in the same events, or at least simply accept that for singles she will mainly be playing in qualifying events.

However some pleasant choices Em has at least, as she continues to extend her career with one of her best years for a long time. Look forward to seeing what she will decide to do in 2020!

Sofia withdrew from Dubai, and Em is only 34th alt after the withdrawal deadline, so may not travel. Em also withdrew from Pune, but has made the main draw in Solapur.

I can imagine that Em might well still go to Dubai just for doubles, assuming she can pick up a good partner and she is pretty good at that.
