Evo had chances at 2-3 getting to 30-30 but Hasse held, Evo then raced through his service game so we are at 3-4

Search on tennis for GB v Hill

Working fine and it's free.

The Dutch are proving hard work for GB and Dutch doubles team is a strong pairing. Going to be interesting.

As an aside, Belgium v Australia is due to start on same court in half an hour...but doubles is yet to start and it will be interesting how that works. Similarly court 2 has USA v Italy due to start and only just started second set of doubles. With crowds coming in and current crowds leaving it could get messy. Looking like another very early hours finish is due to happen!

Japan become the 2nd team to depart the event, Serbia beat them handily. Serbia v France tomorrow for a place in the knockout stages, although one of them could take a wild card place.

The event is proving quite exciting, the organisation less so, but that can easily be sorted for future years.

Croatia are down to the bare bones of a team, Mektic is playing singles versus RBA. Coric is still in, but the other two players are Dodig and Pavic and so whichever way, a doubles player was going to end up playing singles today. I am sure the home crowds wont mind.

the Argentina v Germany doubles match is becoming very important for GB. Here is why - Russia have ended up with a 1-1 record and 4-2 in terms of rubbers. Spain will top that group almost certainly, so Russia become a stalking horse in second spot with a +2 record.

Germany have beaten Argentina 2-0 and this doubles will decide the final score. Germany will almost certainly beat Chile on this fast court and thus Argentina will also end up in second place, with 1-1 win loss. If Argentina win the doubles (and it is looking like a 3rd set will be needed), then they will also be 4-2 in terms of rubbers.

That means any other second place team needs to also reach 4-2 (it is impossible to be second and improve on 4-2, a 3-0 win and a 2-1 loss would consign you to a 4-2 record). So this is where GB need to get to. If we lose to the Dutch in doubles, we will HAVE to beat Kazakhstan 3-0 (if Argentina win their doubles and probably anyway); if GB win the doubles, losing to Kazakhstan will still not be a good option, so we would need to probably beat them 2-1 to top the group. But life will be a lot easier for us if Jamie and Neal manage to pull out what should be a very close doubles match.
