Week 47 - Davis Cup Finals - Madrid, Spain - (Indoor, Hard).

I've found a stream at last. Murray looking a bit leggy but not seen him struggle with hip yet. Greikspoor playing very well. Surface is quick, this could be telling on Murray, fast game.

Andy was *1-4 in the deciding tie-break, but came back to win the match by 6-7(7) 6-4 7-6(5)

Dan (WR 42) vs Robin Haase (WR 163/CH = 33 in July 2012 - he's now 32, the same age as Andy) up next.

Well that was fun. Experience won it in the end but Griekspoor played a superb match.

One thing is for sure. After a 3 hour singles match, Andy won't be playing doubles later.

There was a point in the closing stages there that Murray had no right to return, incredible reach for a lob which brought a missed smash from Griekspoor. A very good match. I'm wondering what effect altitude played here, Murray panting heavily, very leggy. He admitted in the interview that he was lucky.

14.30 CET for Evans. Thinking that this surface will suit Evo.

Maybe Leon will rest AM tomorrow. Commentary just started for Evo fixture. Damned work keeps getting in the way, should catch second set..

Honest as ever (from the Beeb's text coverage):

Britain's Andy Murray speaking to Eurosport: "I'm obviously relieved just now. I don't think I deserved to win that match. I fought extremely hard, but he dictated a lot of the points. I thought he served amazing. I wasn't able to find a way to dictate the points. I just fought hard and scrambled at 4-1 down in the tie-break. It was enough to go my way.

We knew he had been a bit injured. He hurt his ankle four weeks ago. We had sort of prepared to play against the number two. An hour before the match it changed. I didn't know an awful lot about his game. In these circumstances he is going for it and putting me on the backfoot. It's difficult when guys are playing like that."

On the new format/atmosphere: "The atmosphere was brilliant. That was the one concern I had about this event on neutral ground. It was great. There were lots of Dutch fans, it was packed and a really good atmosphere throughout. It was fantastic. You want to see that in every match."

Impressed with the atmosphere at any rate for AM match from what I could see but why don't the beeb have highlights at least? To generate the interest they need the exposure surely.

Wonder if Andy had just come out of hard training if he was "leggy".

Yes, brilliant atmosphere.

And, yes, hey ho, BBC - where are you????

(Bet365 comes to the rescue yet again)

Andy looked a little stiff at the end, did wonder if he was slightly limping at one point, but think I was just being paranoid - he was probably just tired !

Great match, though

I have missed these matches, what a great effort from Murray! Can imagine they will give him a rest tomorrow. No point in over doing it if we are planning to be here for the long haul.

Evo broken whilst serving for the match at 5-4

On a side note, how many teams have the option of resting a player and bringing in a grand slam semi finalist

This is going south very quickly, Evo drops the second set on a tiebreak and has just gone a break down at the start of the 3rd
