Shortly before the teams are set to walk out, the Spanish have announced Feliciano Lopez will replaced the injured Pablo Carreno Busta in the opening singles against Kyle Edmund.  Although Spanish journalists here in Madrid had been saying for the past few hours that Carreno Busta wasn't fit. Hmmm. Gamesmanship from the hosts?

Surely diagnosing a leg injury must be done before nominations. They have waited to see the GB selection before completing their ruze.
