Brevity being the the soul of wit, this is probably what I should have said Then, asked why we still don't have one.

Our prospects can only be as good (on average) as the system that exists to produce and nurture them. We should demand the levels of those are finally raised in permanent fashion.

Regarding who I was, I'm sure I've had about a dozen logins over the years. I go months without posting, can't remember one of the credentials, and have to set up a new account until such time as I forgot these new details. I think I got to about 500 posts once before having to wipe the slate.

And there was me seeing a person of mystery in our depths!

As far as WTA website updates go, this is probably the best I can remember.

That may be damning with faint praise, but grateful for small mercies.

It is refreshingly:

  1. Not broken
  2. Does not seem to remove masses of content
  3. Adds content and relevant and back dated data
  4. laid out better than usual - much too large by default though.

By WTA standatds a cautious B+

Yes SQ, I was thinking the same. From an initial "oh heck" I am so far pleasantly surprised.

Some things to me were initially harder to find because they are differently found but then on consideration possibly better for the future.

Yes, I think it will be Ok once I get used to it. The above was my first shot at navigating it and I was in the "Oh Heck" phase.

Tricky lucky loser ask, but a decent enough effort:

R1: MALONEY, Eliz (GBR) (LL) UNR/699 lost to MORDERGER, Yana (GER) (3) 571/649 3-6 2-6

A straightforward and predictable loss for Eliz...so still no points gained from this week.

People just viewing this for the first time will be disappointed to see a 26 post thread, yet no R1 wins, and not even close to getting one either. Didn't expect much from Eliz given her opponent and that she already lost comfortably in the FQR, but was hoping for a bit better from Destinee.

Well there is a first round doubles win for Anna, as she carries on her winning streak from last week with the same partner

Yes not really who you'd expect to be up against in a W15 tournament.
