Anyway, great that Em at 35 yo just keeps on going, and of course why not if presumably still enjoying the circuit and her tennis and particularly her doubles still being of such a standard.

Back 5, 6 years maybe more on the forum and Em has been the periodic subject of such as why does she still bother, where does she find the money etc - usually being countered by err she like playing competitive tennis and so she finds ways.

Wow, right at the end of the year Naiktha seems to have turned a bit of a corner.

Joanna Garland currently on centre court against a fellow Taiwan MDWC, but it's not going well. 3-6 *1-4. Opponent is seemingly a 2004er, but is screaming literally after every point won, even if an error. Can understand it's a big moment for her, especially as a 14 or 15 year old (can't find the month), but it doesn't come across great.

 

Lost 3 and 3.

Naiktha certainly has found some form.

Now live ranked 259 on 225 points. A L16 win here would take her into the 240s in the rankings. Also she has nothing to defend for the rest of the year. So she is bringing herself into Aus Open qualifying contention. Entered into next wesk's India 25K.

Not going to plan for Em and Yana today. Neither player has held serve yet - in fact they have only won 2 points on serve, and 8 returning. First set gone in 20 minutes 6-1

Ah, OK. I was only watching the live scores. Must have been carrying an injury - Em did beat her quite easily in qualifying.

Very frustrating given big points on offer here, a SF would have taken her to about 140. Shame.
