Taking out Rome which is a two week event we only have Eden in doubles through to Friday so far as far as I can tell. Only Aidan in singles and Emily App in doubles in with a chance of joining him. A truly dire week.

Week 19                                                       Friday 10/05/2024

As wolf has already stated there are not many having that friday feeling this week.

In singles :-

and in doubles : -

W75 USA                             Emily A with Quinn

This is the first week of the ATP/WTA1000 Rome held on clay. Harriet,Heather and Lily were in Qualifying but no-one qualified. Dan went out in the first round

whilst Jack is through to the second round joining seeds Cam and Katie who were given byes.

In the doubles Neal and partner lost in the first round whilst Joe, Jamie, Lloyd, Heather and partners are yet to play.

Also the 2024 Wheelchair World Team Tournament is taking place in Turkey.

Lloyd plays Jamie in their 1st round matches. Julian isn't in the draw, or he might be on an alternates list.

And Aidan didn't even survive until Friday, local time, losing in straight sets to his Venezuelan opponent.  bleh

As said, (1) Aidan lost his M15 Mexico L16 match on the Mexican Thursday. So for our seniors ( excluding Rome ) just leaving (2) Eden+ and (2) Emily App+ in douobles.

Today Eden+ have lost their France W75+H SF early doors so now just Emily App ( & Quinn Gleason ) in the USA W75 SF.

Not the deepest of weeks for GB entries but enough decently ranked that yes it has turned out pretty dire in seniors.

All the best to Emily & Quinn, to our remaining juniors, and to our Wheelchair World Cup teams.

Men's wheelchair team reach the final, play Spain on Sunday.

Other wheelchair teams out of medal contention, although still playing for final positions.

Well done the mens team!

Emily App+ duly lose their doubles SF - so no Saturday feeling for any of our non Rome senior men or women ( and Rome not exactly going great either )

It is a truly dire week - sadly a long way from being our worst.
