Lost 7-5, 6-2. Pity, maybe hampered by an injury worry. Her opponent was serving aces too.

It was a dead on 50/50 betting match up against a higher ranked opponent, but these are the type of matches you'd hope to see her win if she is going to significantly push on to where we'd like her to end up. If she was hampered by some sort of injury then while perhaps offering an explanation (not that it was needed), that actually makes it worse because rather than an obvious layoff like Katie B's back or Jodie's ankle, Swan literally seems to have some sort of injury every other event, which will obviously hamper her chances of pushing on.

She has won a lot of matches since she returned from USO quals, 10 in total, and that's great and she probably has done enough to secure her AO qual place (although she may still need a win next week, or rely on a few extra withdrawals - we'll know more in due course), but she's played 4 matches against players in the top 350 in that period and has lost 3 of them (305, 344, and 198 today). Now that is subjective because had I said top 351 players then it would have been 2-3, and Kayla Day was a fellow top junior etc. but it's wins against the better players that will fill you with more optimism than winning a few matches against significantly lower ranked players that she should be winning.

Anyway, if she was feeling something, hopefully she is fine for Houston next week and can maybe end her season with a win or two, and secure that AO spot beyond all doubt.

It was all kicking off at the end of a R2 match here between Parks and Sebov. Very heated.

Seems that was Parks' father with the comedy leap over the fence ( as opposed to using the gate ) before picking himself up and shouting the odds.

That fall was absolutely brilliant, especially as the gate a few yards further down was already open biggrin.
