This 18 year old(Joanna Garland) representing Taipei was born in Stevenage also the birthplace of Lewis Hamilton and Ian Poulter. Will she opt in the long run for Taipei over GB?

Why not? Nationality and domicile are often two different things. Tennis nationality can be another, due to arcane rules.

First match back after injury shows that more work needs to be done before AO as expected.
She lost the second set 1-6

That's such a shame.  I remember watching her at the AO  and she had such a big game, very impressive.

 A disappointing defeat for Boulter

To the girl from the same town as Poulter.

I'm delighted to say that I was wrong. Naiktha wins again 2-6 6-4 6-1 smile

Excellent. Not only a couple of wins appearing out of nowhere now, but wins against decent players, and hard-fought wins, too.

Joanna Garland also won her next match as well

That's another very good win, fair play to her. Only one seed left in the draw now (Kerkhove, and she plays Garland next).

QF: BAINS, Naiktha (GBR) 292 v BLACK, Hurricane Tyra (USA) Q 1224 CH=804 20/5 19 [18yo JCH=11]

The top seed retired against a WC who in turn got blown away by the Hurricane. Let's hope the eye of the storm has past by the time she meets Naiktha.

Naiktha plays Kerhove next  who easily beat Joanna Garland. Kerhove msde the main draw at Wimbledon this year and played US Open main draw in  2017.
