I see thst she retired at *2-5 in the opening set. 5 breaks of serve in all ( Sam no holds in 3 ). Bit up and down set before Sam lost the last 6 points in being broken for 2-4* and then the final game being won to love.

Anyone know the problem?

Lissey and Caroline didn't play her doubles - they gave their opponents a walkover. Lissey is back in England now.

I see Sam's conqueror (of sorts) has made the semi final here and is currently on court against recent Wimbledon Jr winner Claire Liu. Interesting all US teenage battle in the other semi final that follows on, 15 year old Katrina Scott (who beat Katie S in USO quals) against the excellently named 17 year old Katie Volynets. Scott and Volynets will probably barely scratch the surface over there at the moment when they have the respective similarly aged Gauff and Anisimova to call upon, yet they'd both be pretty big deals on this forum if they were British.
