Tidy player. Could do with just that little bit extra fire power. Held up well though.

Yay, ground out that final game.

Indeed, ground out the match. Well done.

7-5 5-7 7-5 in 2 hours 43 minutes.

54% first serve points won ( of 69% in ) isn"t likely to make life easy. 61% second serve points won. Gomez incidentally was also down on first serve points, if  closer to his second, 59% to 60%.

I know this isn't the right place, but has anyone else noticed the changes to the ATP/WTA live app? I always look on there for results and to see what's happening when, but it's now only showing live scores and NOT completed matches or the order of play. This makes it much less useful. Very frustrating.

It is great to see Liam finding some form again after two consecutive wins against Top 150 players. I haven't done any empirical research but I seem to remember that Liam has a habit of doing well in the 2nd half of the season and this year seems to back that up. He then seems to go into a new season with us full of hope and then struggle again until after the summer. I really hope Liam can continue this form and then hopefully take it into the start of next season. A win tomorrow will put Liam at around the 240 mark and hopefully well inside the cut off for next year's AO Qualies. Would be great to see him play there and play well.

Been no change to the ATP/WTA live app I have had on my phone for some time. Tournament live, completed, schedule and draws as usual, along with tournament calendar and rankings.

You missed an "o" out of the Dutchman's name, Bob:  it's Brouwer.  wink

Really good to see Liam winning today, particularly after missing out in the first set.

Hope it gives him confidence as he has lost the odd match from winning positions.

No empirical evidence but I seem to recall he often wins in straight sets after winning a first set tie-break.biggrin

Historically he has always performed well in the last quarter - especially in us challengers

Of his 17 challenger or futures finals in his career, 13 have been in the 2nd half of the year.

I am glad I wasn't imagining things re Liam and his 2nd half season symptoms.
