Two R32 wins here today.
So bereft of wins, and starved for upsides has the post-Wimbledon GB scene been for the women collectively, that this appears as a veritable feast to enjoy before usual service is resumed, and the famine most probably returns to last until year's end.

Why are we so bad? (this is rhetorical)

Eliz is due to lose her WTA ranking next Monday but this win will now give her a 3rd counter again for the following Monday with all 3 counters added since September. Hopefully she can build more.

Anna P lost her R2 match against the 6th seed, 1-6 1-6

Eliz was leading for most of the first set but lost it 4-6 and is now 1-3 down in the second.

Saw Eliz was 4-2 A-40*, just assumed she'd get the 2nd break for some reason, went back to check and the opponent held and then broke to love, and then the scores seemed to stop at 4-4 for ages. So 7 of the last 8 games to the opponent.
