This tournament is being held on the TCU campus hence the presence of Ali G (senior #16) and Jacob Fearnley (Freshman) who are both students there, TCU has a good relationship with British tennis primarily due to Cam who may (I think he does) still use it as his (US) base, in the past I think they have been pretty helpful with Luke and Liam hitting with Cam while a student but playing US futures challengers, I am sure there are those that have been following Cam more closely since leaving college who know more. This probably accounts for the large numbers of Brits entered.
Nathan Ponwith transferred to Arizona State last season he is presently a junior. He was the no 1 recruited freshman when recruited to Georgia (SEC), no 1 SEC Freshman. He transferred to Arizona State as thats where he was from, they have always had a womens tennis programme but only set up a mens team a couple of years ago (17/18) which is now developing into yet another quality programme in the PAC12, Thomas Wright (Bromley tennis centre) is also in the squad but has really struggled with injury but much worse places to winter than Arizona State which is one of the top US party schools
Interestingly the PAC 12 should really be the mens PAC 9 and womens PAC -11! Oregon State dont have any tennis programmes, no mens at Colorado or Washington State. Why? Not all of the big US Colleges are prepared to use their (Football) scholarships on mens tennis although some have womens programmes to balance up re tittle IX.
