Now 4-2, 1st serve went walkabout down in the 30's but has made a reappearance

This is a great result from Katie, and it's going to move her back into the GB #4 position in a week's time, ahead of Maia and Sam.

QF: SWAN, Katie (GBR) [5] 263 def FERNANDEZ, Leylah Annie (CAN)WC [4] 250 CH=232 19/8/19 [17yo JCH=1] 6-4 3-6 6-1

Nice win. Alicia's conqueror Harrison is about to (try and) serve for the match in her QF, so that could be who Katie faces in the semi final - the top seed was eliminated in R1.

She was broken to love...(5-5)

Still to come is Lissey's doubles SF, partnering the aforesaid Harrison.

SF: (2) Alicia Barnett & Catherine Harrison (USA) CR 661 (351+310) vs Hind Abdelouahid & Alyssa Tobita (USA/USA) CR 1795 (760+1035)

Harrison vs Olmos goes to a 3rd set. Maybe good for Katie and not so good for Lissey.

Surely a great chance to reach the final?

Katie was 4-1* up but then pegged back, but has just saved at least 3 BPs to hold for 6-5*. 4 holds to 40 and obviously the break to be pegged back, but she has hit 9 aces already.

And now breaks to love to take the set 7-5. biggrin
