Not really got her mo-Jodie back since her time out.

 biggrin

Nope, not yet, a big momentum killer that was. She probably was back sooner than I was expecting, but I think she's only added a net of 9 since her return, so it basically is 4 and a half months out. She does have at least 2 US events in succesive weeks coming up, so hopefully the more matches she can get in, the sooner it'll return.

A nice match for Katie to come back to after her absence, but great to see her back winning. Her potential 2nd round opponents are on court now. Potential QF opponent and fellow seed Leylah Fernandez won her R1 match.

Lissey is the betting fave in her match against the player with the much higher career high (who I remember sneaking in directly to that weak WTA Nanchang event last year when it was just after Wimbledon, before it moved this year), so hopefully we have 2 in R2.

Ahh, didn't realise Lissey was actually on court, and she has taken the first set 6-4, and is now 1/8 to win.

Good to see Katie back on the court.

Hoping for a good week and building back into the top 200. Aus open quallies should be a definite target.

Tough start for Lissey, but she has a break back and is on the board, *1-4.

It has Katie S down as approx 8.40pm, so without checking the OOP, I assume she is 2nd on after the match in progress between Jodie's conqueror and former top jr Kayla Day.

Dropped it 5-7 unfortunately, but good fighting spirit.

Anyone know anything about Katie's young opponent other than the info Peter has provided? Don't think I've come across the name in any jr slams.

Thanks CD, very interesting. They're underway now. There'll be a much more well known 17 year old in Leylah Fernandez waiting in the QF for the winner.

Alicia had served for the second set, but was broken, 5-5*
