Is Indy de Vroome the lady who double faults 6479 times a match?

Today she beat the 2nd seed 6-3 6-1 and had just 3 DFs all match. Sam is not going to start favourite here.

I'm surprised to see the odds so close in the Paquet vs Brouleau match later, where the winner faces Eden. Paquet is the very slight 4/7 fave vs 5/4. I thought it would have been more like 1/6 vs 7/2 given the significant ranking difference, massive contrast in experience despite being of similar age. It'll be interesting to see how that one goes.

Sam and Naomi have won their doubles QF easily over the French pair Halemai and Leonard, 6-2 6-3

Beth and Eden are warming up now.

Well, Lou B is currently 6-3 5-2* up, so if anything, the odds were too conservative.

On paper, one currently ranked in the top 150 with wins over both Kenin and Garcia in the past 5 months, whereas the other was in Mexico beating Emily App in W15s earlier in the year, and while has significantly improved her ranking since, has had a few much lower ranked defeats recently. They'll have their metrics for setting their prices, and I guess one will be they think Paquet is currently overranked.

Eden will very likely be a reasonable betting underdog against either, but should Lou finish the job here, then on this basis, it's not really an upset.

Yep, 6-3 6-3 to Brouleau and that's who Eden will face in R2.

So both Sam and Eden avoid the #2 and #1 seeds respectively in the 2nd round. Not surprised that Indy DV beat Schoofs given her past credentials and did well at Roehampton (and she was 8/13 favourite), but was a bit surprised here.

Good luck to both Brits.

Sam levels the match at one set all.

Hope she can continue the better tennis in the deciding set

She took a toilet break end of the first set... maybe she has a magic potion somewhere? That was some turn around that set...

The magic potion continues to work Michael as she breaks to lead 3-1 in the final set
