Young Sofia (born 2005) scores a stunner in the US, knocking out the top seed, ranked in the top-400.

But unfortunately couldn't follow it up.

Joel Pierleoni, one of our touted youngsters, has been having a bit of a rough time lately, got knocked out in R1 of a G3, lost in R2 of a Grade 5 (!) last week, losing in R2 of lots of G4s....

So it seemed he decided to stay on in Greece and enter one more event as a wildcard - and has made the final

This weekend is the culmination of the Tennis Europe season with the Masters event (under 14/under16) in Reggio Calabria, Italy. Luca Pow is the only Brit to qualify (ranked 7=). He lost his opener today to the second seed Yaroslav Demin of Russia, so will play for the minor places tomorrow and Sunday.

At the TE U14 Masters event Luca Pow won his remaining two matches (6-4 6-2 against Marc Majdandzic of Germany and 1-6 7-5 6-3 against Iliyan Radulov of Bulgaria) to finish 5th
