Week 40 - ATP 500 - Rakuten Japan Open Tennis Championships - Tokyo, Japan (hard) - Doubles

In the singles, no seeds left in the bottom half of the draw meaning one of Simon, Opelka, Uchiyama, Harris, Millman, Thompson, Daniel Will be the finalist (and only Simon has reached a 500 final before, twice)

It was very good that Luke & Ben joined the US Open doubles party and reached the QF there. But otherwise they have been rather underwhelming as a partnership. Hope it picks up, especially with Ben's good doubles pedigree.

I'm not sure they'd have coped with Mahut & ERV in the QF if they'd won.

That is a really good win and Dom and Austin proving to be a solid partnership. Big match next but no reason they cant  win that one as well

good week for Dom and Austin, be good to see them play next week in Shanghai.

They are 7th alts for that (Jamie/neal and Joe are already in) but it is a 32 draw so might well make it (21 spaces filled currently)

Milkman got curdled by Djokovic

Herbert is currently injured, which is why Mahut is playing with ERV

Ok, didn't spot that. If hes not fit by o2 , that will boost Joe's chances of qualifying as the french pair would take that 8th spot having won a slam.
