Luke Johnson has been on a god run of form of late, and was impressive on the livestream from Glasgow.

Six points here (and counting) is his best counter to date, I believe. And 3 points last week in the challenger, 4 points the week before in the 15k SF.....

It's true that this opposition here has not been the hardest (no disrespect but just based on the rankings, he's beaten an ATP 796 and two unranked players). However, let's hope he gives a good account of himself.

One of Bob's 'good chance/maybes' for the top 500, at some point, I'd have thought.

Luke lost the first set in a TB, having been a break down for most of the set but managing to get it back.

Is now a break up in the second....

Luke fought back to take the 2nd 6-3 but was broken in the opening game of the decider.

Luke was a jaggy top 500 pick some time ago. I think that possibly put a curse on the poor guy but maybe it wears off in time

Indeed I see above that he appears to have god on his side now.

Not to be today though as Luke goes down 6-3 in the 3rd. Excellent week for him though.

Yes it was my fault Im afraid, I saw Luke a couple of times and thought he was a 400 ranked player. The evidence would suggest otherwise.

I did however tell everyone Dan Evans would be GB number 1 at year end, so at least I got that right

You've got time, Jaggy.

He's 25. If he has the time and money to carry on for a few more years, he's got a good chance.

I would have said a good chance of top-500, based on what I've seen these past few weeks.

Err, Dan's not yet GB #1 and it's not the year end

Though plenty of folk I think could see this scenario as likely for a while as the season developed with the race points position linked to the points Kyle has to come  off in October. And it remains very likely.

Your top 4 in the predictions thread was 1. Andy, 2. Cam, 3. Kyle, 4. Dan. I too had Dan as #4. We are like the many who didn't previously see this coming.

All good fun with plenty surprises along the way.
