A short and sweet thread from a GB perspective, and was mentioned earlier in the entries section, but may as well make it official in here.

It was always going to be difficult as Peterson is at a career high and has done very well over the summer, beating Jo of course, and triumphed in the WTA Nanchang final 5 days ago, before pulling out of WTA Guangzhou this week, so she was fresh and in form, but it does kind of show how far away Hev is from that sort of level. Hev actually broke in the very first game, but went quickly downhill thereafter, and lasted little over an hour.

Heather is live ranked 125 on 520 points, and just over 600 is usually in and around the top 100 cut off point. She does have 59 points coming off before mid-November, so getting into the top 100 before the AO cut off will probably be unrealistic.

Pity she didn't try her luck in a lesser tournament.

Tend to agree with this. Her level seems to be a the top end of ITF tournaments just at the moment.

Should've gone to Tashkent perhaps.

This is not the first time that Ms. Watson has chosen a Premier over an International and lost her first match.

I don't think that she has won a main draw match at a Premier for over a year.

Heather has won only 1 match on the main tour all year and that was over Cate McNally at Wimbledon.

No doubles for our girls here this week. Last direct acceptance was 94 (best of S & D)

Meanwhile Muguruza wins a match, hasn't won a match since the FO

Yeah, seems incredible that stat, considering she's a former Wimbledon champ...

She next plays Svitolina so I don't see her winning that and Garbi was on a 5 match losing streak so has only played 5 tournaments since the FO.

Kerber is another one having quite a poor year but she was injured for a few months around the FO.

Not sure we'll be seeing Alison Riske at Surbiton next year.

So have Barty and Kvitova, and I agree it's a good move, obviously different countries and federations, but it would be nice if Rome-Madrid and Canada-Cincy did the same.

Agree with that Ace. No reason to not make it a standard policy for back to back premiers
