Nice to see Leylah Fernandez's even younger sister Bianca here. Pretty ideal opponent for her to start things off. Assuming she sees the job off, it'll be interesting to see how she gets on in her FQR.
Yes, Canada's second Bianca, in case they lose one
Tin hat time for the British fans and players. So far in every contest where one of our women has played someone from another country they have lost including Freya.
Yeah, Freya's result was disappointing, but in many cases, not all (particularly the junior QWCs), the unseeded Brits will effectively be making up the numbers, and winning multiple games would be considered a success. The aforementioned Bianca, a 15 year old, was 1/50 for example to beat Kimberly Mpukusa, and it would have been the same for a lot of the others.

Rajecki up a break in the second set. Would be great if she could finish the job and then that would be a guaranteed qualifier.
Not sure what's going on with Tanysha today, she's had her share of 0 and 0 and other heavy defeats this year, mainly overseas, but I wasn't expecting another one here. She's dropped the first set 0-6 and has only won 7 points.

She reminded me a bit of Rybakina there with her build, poise and fairly clean forehand winners. If she do half, or a even a quarter of what Rybakina has done by the time she is 20, I'll be pleased.
Sets up an interesting match with Emily Arb - hopefully that will be on one of the 2 streamed courts.
Main draw is out. There was 1 withdrawal - Ferrando, which allowed Emma to sneak in directly and to free up one other WC which went to Grace P. The other 3 were Beth, Emilie and Emily App.
So all the Q1 matches involving Brits have finished.
Indy De Vroom vs Marni - Marni 15/2 to win, and the toughest draw by far.
Ines Ibbou vs Sonay - Sonay 12/5, so not too much of an outsider
Chanelle Nguyen vs Tanysha - Tanysha 11/4, so like the above, an underdog, but woulnd't be a huge upset
Joanna Garland vs K Pitak - no odds, but would be a big surpise if KP pulled it off. Would probably rather Joanna went through anyway - a potential Wimbledon jr rematch with Emma in R1 would be pretty interesting...
Emily Arb vs Amelia Rajecki - guaranteed qualifier, Emily a big favourite
Julia Wachaczyk vs Eliz
The other 2 FQRs don't involve Brits. Would be nice if we could get one other through in addition to the one guaranteed.
