Here's hoping Jay can get things back on track here.

Didn't reaise Evan#s ranking had moved up so much. Good going.

It will go up some more once the Week 36 points are added. He is currently in the final of the 25k in France.

Evan sneaked up a bit by focusing on ITFs when ATP points were not awarded. Once the ATP points were added retrospectively his ranking shot up.  He is at the point now though where he needs to start making an impact at Challenger level if he is going to progress further.  This would be a good week to start.  Mertens has been Top 200 but Evan already has a win over him earlier this year in straight sets.  But Granollers up next if he gets through that one.

Well lets hope Hoyt can beat Mertens, as Granollers has pulled out and has been replaced by an ALT (Elgin of Russia).

Evan took the break in the third. And promptly gave it up again.

Now 5-5

Ok. So he's just broken again.

Now *6-5 and serving for it.

And, frankly, what with Jodie this morning, I've had enough of faffing around no

So, Evan, buckle down and just do it ! smile

L32:  Evan Hoyt WR 354 vs (ALT) Mikhail Elgin (RUS) WR 1609 (CH = 123 in July 2009 - he's now 37)

I think Elgin's more of a doubles specialist these days, isn't he?

Elgin should be a lot easier (famous last words) And Hoyt was also a break up in the second set.

Had me totally confused at first having scrolled down just far enough to read the top line. Glad Evan got there in the end.
