Hopefully Jack can, with this week, in total count more points from ITFs in August to October this year ( so far 46 ) than he earned in total in that period last year ( 51 ).

With his time out earlier this year and such a bulk of his points coming from these tournaments from last year I think it is an understandable strategy to play a run of ITFs to get wins and with better odds that he would earn decent points and protect his ranking. Pushing on to challenger can come in time. And he is ambitious enough that that won't be too long.

At the beginning of August he was WR 430 and his points were:
From 08/18 to 10/18 : 51
From 11/18 to 07/19 : 23
Total : 74

He's got in his defence to most of these 2018 points early so be interesting whether he pushes on as is to build more of a buffer and protect his improved ranking against points due to come off soon. For 09/09 he is live ranked 335, heading for a further CH

Remaining from 08/18 to 10/18 : 46
From 11/18 to 07/19 : 23
So far from 08/19 to 10/19 : 46
Total 115

I have a vague recollection of him entering a couple of challengers around this time last year with disappointing results, consolidating his ranking at 15k ad 25k may be a smarter move as he is only 85-90 places (80ish points)off an AO qualifying place with 4 months to accumulate those points.

Colour me confused: did Mr McHugh win or lose?
