No real surprise. Snigur was a big 1/7 pre match favourite, and Maia had been going 3 sets all week with significantly lower ranked players, much like in recent months, but a generous 30 points for her efforts.
On the other hand, another W25 title for Snigur and it would be nice to see her inside the top 200 by June. If Wimbledon are going to keep giving up 4 or 5 WCs, then I'd rather she got one as the reigning Jr champ.
Maia's schedule has been very 25K centric she needs to start moving up now.
Yes, she's won only the one though, Shrewsbury last Nov. She also reached the QF in the W60 also in Shrewsbury in Feb. Whatever it is about the Shropshire town, she likes it...

I'm not sure she does tbh. I think this is her level at the moment. She may currently be circa 250 on paper, but to me, that does feel a bit inflated, especially when 60 of her 234 points were for beating #481 QWC Tara at Nottingham (30 alone there), and then 30 here for beating (or sneaking past in some cases) 4 players outside the top 450. That's 5 wins against nobody in the top 450 giving her the points equivalent of reaching a WTA international QF.
You just need look at her 2 most recent results prior to this paticularly weak W25 - 1-6 2-6 vs Eden, and 0-6 4-6 vs Gervais. Grass is clearly not her thing and she was mainly out of her depth there, but since Wimbledon she has been sneaking past modestly ranked players, and lost routinely 2 and 4 to Lily. Her ranking will say she has progressed since the Glasgow-Shrewsbury double header in February, but I'm not sure her stock has - just look at that above link, there's literally been not one stand out win on her record in the 6 months since then. The only top 300 she beat (Y Zhang) is now outside the top 300 (so most points were won a long time ago) and she lost 0 and 1 in about 50 mins to Katie S in a very recent US W60.
It's nice having another GB player in and around the slam Q positions and although she does have about 80 points coming off before the end of the year, it would be great if she could get into the AO quals, for the money and experience if nothing else, but I'd personally prefer her to do better consistently against those ranked 200-300, probably in European W25s, before she starts thinking about W60 events.

I agree that 25K is the right level for her. So I'm very surprised to see that Sajur is only a 15K. I'm not convinced dropping down to this level is particularly helpful. I see Freya is there too, and it's probably a better route for her as she needs to try and get the winning habit back.

I think it's more of a convenience thing. She is down for a W60, also in Israel, the week after the W15, but it's not the strongest as she'll be very close to seeded, so I think it's more just combining the 3 events in the same country.
