Terrific match to watch. Had chances in the second set as well.

They're all nicely spread out today. Jonny 1st on Court 17, Luke 2nd on Court 7, Jamie & Neal 3rd on Court 7 and Joe 4th on Grandstand.

 This.

Really great effort. Shame they met the number 1 seeds so early on as they looked like they were having a fantastic time and boosted each other's games.

Whatever folks think of the davis cup, the doubles and singles selections for Madrid will be interesting.

We have 7 players in top 50 doubles give or take a place or two. No one showing consistent form, but clearly all capable an going well this week. Madrid is on clay I think or is that wrong? Hard to gauge who leon might pick at this stage and perhaps dan and cam are contenders,

Singles equally interesting and maybe andy will come into contention in both as a squad member? Think we can choose 5 players from memory , so quite possible that Kyle, dan, cam all come into play, andy maybe and one doubles player, most likely jamie still?

Agreed though Jon. It'll be interesting to see what the team selections will be given the importance of the dubs with only three games in a match. Two singles and a dubs really changes the dynamic of a match. The dubs game being the decider as well I understand.

Thanks Smudge, hard is better obviously for our guys and our options. The 13 ATP autumn events and rest of US open will almost feel like a set of selections trials as they are all hardcourts events. Interesting autumn ahead

Somebody somewhere did a strongest nation in terms of mens' doubles, and I expect most of us were shocked at how high up we were, which was 2nd after the US. It would be interesting to repeat that after this tournament. I'll see what I can look out.

I think strongbow calculated something or it may have been Blob before they left, it will be in the strongest nation thread somewhere !

Darn, ran away from dan and cam. Still players in 4 pairs in last 16, 5 out of 32, not bad. Haven't counted but we might have the most players after the Americans?

Equal first to the Americans in most players, 5. And involved in most pairs, 4.

The two all American pairs clash in R3, Sock & Withrow vs the Bryans. Ram is their 5th representative so let's hope that they have 3 players in the QF. Now how many will we have?

You moved fast to edit your post there, Indy!  I was about to ask whether Bopanna had switched his allegiance!!!  wink

Yes, always give me a few minutes

If I didn't have that I would be exposed hugely more often than I am. Mods' hidden edits are a fine facility.

Actually knowing how bad I can be initially, I always think it a good idea to generally give folk time to notice errors in their posts.
