Have only seen the short highlights clips of JoKo's matches, so far, so I don't feel confident enough to say how well she's playing. The highlights seem to show Jo playing a variety of shots in the rally, mixing it up, and I'm impressed by that. I think she'll improve with every match too, good luck to her.

She played very well in her last match. However, I wouldn't read too much into it as Gasparyan was pretty awful, though some of that is down to Jo imposing herself from the start of the match. Zhang will be far more difficult.
OK, I can't think many wouldn't have taken L16 coming in.
Wee bit of a tester now but hey, go Jo !
I agree. its Jo's best year ever for slams with a SF, QF, 2nd round and now L16. Her previous best was 2017 with a SF, QF and two first rounds. Maybe that's her strategy, to do as well as she can in the slams and not play so many other tournaments so she can peak at the right time. If so, it seems to be working!
