Very comfortable. 12 games in a row inside an hour. Played very well, but didn't really need do much. Lot's of DFs from Gasparyan and just didn;t really have aything to trouble Jo.
Hoping Zhang-Alexandrova goes long and into 3 sets here (Zhang serving for set at *5-3) and then it's scheduled reasonably early tomorrow. Zhang is the 33rd seed, but Alexandrova was the pre match fave, and beat her at either Toronto or Cincy a few weeks ago. Zhang has a fair bit crowd support here.

Zhang and Alexandrova into a decider. 7-6 4-6. That first set alone lasted longer than Jo's entire match - she could actually benefit from that washout yesterday.
What an amazing match from Taylor Townsend to beat Halep in the 3rd set TB.
Over ONE HUNDRED times she came to the net
Just brilliant. Form both of them. But obviously from the underdog qualifier in particular. (How is anyone in qualis in their home grand slam when they're 116 in the word?)
And given all the cr**p that girl has had to put with in the past...... just joy.
2) Always pleased to see Ons Jabeur doing well who (to my knowledge) is the only Muslim player at this level.
3) Naomi v Coco must be the programmers' dream match....
1) Only if your time-frame is very recentAlso, the borderline hostile hyper-jingoism in Flushing and Forest HIlls before it has always tended to help over represent the home contingent.
2) Yes, and if her federation had ever stopped interfering in her life and career she really could have been a perennial contender
3) Any match involving CoCo is nobody's dream match.
